Position Summary As a Forklift Operator/Distribution Associate I at Jacam Catalyst, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, and unload merchandise, handling repairs, maintaining facilities as instructed, handling hazardous waste containers, responding to spills, inspecting containers, and assisting with proper waste disposal. The distribution center is a logistics-based department with ample overtime opportunities depending on workload.

Essential Functions

Safely operate forklifts or any other power equipment to complete various tasks and projects assigned.

Ensure inbound and outbound products are accurate and free of damage.

Efficiently move products from storage to other locations in the warehouse, as well as loading and unloading trucks.

Follow safety and health procedures including goggles, gloves, and other apparatus required for the safe completion of the job.

Maintain plant facilities, tools, and other items used in the performance of the employee’s duties.

Follow the appropriate Hazmat clean‑up and disposal procedures and immediately report all spills to supervisor.

All duties must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe working conditions must be reported to supervisor and corrective actions must be taken before proceeding with the job.

Fabricate, repair and maintain any equipment used in manufacturing processes if requested by superiors.

Ensure all warehouse loads for the day are complete regardless of the hours of operation.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or GED and/or two to four years of related experience.

Forklift certification – Jacam Catalyst can provide training and certification if needed.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills & Abilities

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, efficient navigation of web browsers, following online instructions, typing, and use of a mouse.

Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service.

Work Ethic: Dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible; sincere desire to provide service or assistance; follows instructions; takes responsibility for own actions; team player; works collectively to get everything done timely and at an industrial pace.

Physical Abilities: Lift and carry up to 100 pounds in various packaging; tip and move 55 gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.

Work Environment Chemical manufacturing environment inside and outside of metal buildings. Employees may work in temperature extremes and chemical odor environments. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment (e.g., eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, hardhats). Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Physical Demands

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, goggles, etc.
