Miller Pipeline is accepting applications for Heavy Equipment Operators on an ongoing basis. Successful candidates must be able to communicate effectively, have prior work experience with operating heavy equipment, and have knowledge of underground utilities (gas, water and sewer).

Main Responsibilities:

Digging, filling, back-filling, grading or other excavation work including trenches, pits or tunnels

Distinguishes between properties, types and moisture content of soils

Installation of underground cable and conduit as well as overhead cable

Fasten attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.

Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachments.

Move levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks.

Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.

Feel lever and listen for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut.

Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment.

Maintain all appropriate maintenance records.

Assess the area to determine if the utilities were properly located prior to performing the underground work.

Review the terrain to determine the best method to perform the job.

Operate vehicles for hauling.

Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an operator’s apprentice program or equivalent experience operating heavy equipment

Experience with underground utilities and pipeline construction

Ability to travel around the state of Colorado

3+ years of experience operating large excavators, loaders, etc.

Valid driver's license.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer’s operator qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A)
