Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc.
We are seeking a motivated Burn Table operator. The operator will be responsible for setting up and operating overhead cranes to load/unload steel. They will verify that the finished product meets specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities
Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment as assigned, including but not limited to tape measure, caliper, hammer, pallet trucks, banding machine, micrometer, beam hook, plate lifting clamps, forklift, shear, overhead crane and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform routine checks on equipment and notify supervisor of any damages or concerns.
Operate and maintain Burn Table to cut materials according to CAD drawings or work orders.
Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine cutting requirements.
Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications.
Select correct material type, stock size and dimensions.
Transfer appropriate data onto materials.
Keep a clean and well organized work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Technical training or certification in Machine Operation or related field preferred.
Previous experience interpreting CAD drawings preferred.
Experienced operating CNC plasma and oxy machines.
Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques.
Experienced with overhead cranes.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in fast paced environment.
Ability to stand for a prolonged period.
Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock in operations or laboratory areas.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but due to open office environment noise level may occasionally be high.
