Industrial Light Equipment Operators Industrial Light Equipment Operators will operate one or more construction equipment such as bob cats, bulldozers, excavators, front‑end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders to move earth. They will be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and may assist with repairs. The position will also assist other crafts during downtime, including non‑operating activities.

Position Responsibilities

Operate various construction dirt equipment to move earth precisely.

Inspect equipment and complete inspection paperwork.

Ensure safety standards are met and follow signal directions from a signaler.

Access operation areas for safety inspections and planning of equipment operations.

Follow all instructed safety regulations.

Be punctual and work the designated schedule, including overtime as needed.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Must have 2+ years’ experience as a Dirt Equipment Operator.

Must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities for operating varied construction equipment.

Must have basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.

Must know soil types and excavation specifications.

Must follow instructions correctly, be reliable, accountable, and consistent.

Must be able to meet all physical requirements.

Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle records check.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must have all required tools.

Must have forklift experience.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.

Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.

Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements The employee will be required to sit for large amounts of time, communicate via talking and hearing, use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects. The employee may need to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs, pass a visual acuity assessment, use fingers in precise movements, and exhibit good dexterity in arms, legs, hands, and feet. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots must be worn.
