Join UCLA Health's word-class Orthopedic Surgery team as a Senior Orthopedic Technician and play a key role in supporting exceptional patient care. In this position, you'll provide comprehensive assistance to physicians and patients across the full spectrum of orthopedic services, from clinical care to procedures support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in patient assessment and documentation, including recording medical history and orthopedic complaints
Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices
Educate patients and families on care and skin maintenance
Prepare and assist in-clinic procedures and operating room settings, including fracture reductions, dressing changes, and surgical prep
Interpret basic fractures/dislocations on X-rays and perform measurements such as leg length or grip strength
Maintain aseptic technique and manage supplies, equipment, and exam room readiness
Support patient flow by rooming patients, taking vitals, and ensuring documentation accuracy and insurance authorization
Assist with clinical inventory management and provide back-up support DXA technicians as needed
Salary range: $34.41/hr - $45.37/hr
Qualifications
Valid Orthopedic Technician Certification from either NBCOT or ASOP
Minimum 2 years of experience working with orthopedic patients
Prior experience in casting/splinting
Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Ability to triage medical problems within scope of job responsibilities
Ability to work independently or collaboratively with other staff members
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
