Minimum Experience / Education Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.
Faculty teaching graduate courses: doctorate / terminal degree in the discipline or a related field. UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline.
UNC Charlotte also considers competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including undergraduate/graduate degrees, related work experience, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, documented excellence in teaching, and other demonstrated competencies.
Duties and Responsibilities These temporary positions normally involve teaching one or more courses for a single semester. Responsibilities include:
Developing and/or updating course syllabus.
Preparing lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
Meeting all designated class periods and maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
Submitting mid‑semester progress reports and final grades in accordance with university regulations.
