Our client is a well respected consulting firm with a strong focus on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. They are looking for a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer in Indianapolis who wants hands on design experience, meaningful project work, and mentorship from senior engineers who enjoy helping younger talent grow.
Role Overview This role supports the planning, design and delivery of water and wastewater projects including treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection or distribution systems. The engineer will work closely with senior technical staff and project managers while gaining exposure to clients, design tools, and occasional field activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems
Prepare plans, calculations, technical reports and design documentation
Assist with hydraulic modeling, system evaluations and alternatives analysis
Help with permitting, specifications and construction phase coordination
Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers and municipal clients
Participate in site visits to gather data and understand existing conditions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
2-5 years of experience in municipal or water wastewater design
EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure is preferred
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and an interest in hydraulic modeling
Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in municipal infrastructure
