This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities.
Responsibilities
Provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings.
Interpret orally between Vietnamese and English in both directions.
Meet the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
Perform assignments based in the Sacramento Area, scheduled on a regular basis depending on demand for specific languages and interpreter qualifications.
Obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
Qualifications
Fluency in both Vietnamese and English.
Must be based in Sacramento Area.
Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication.
Strong ability to interpret orally between Vietnamese and English in both directions.
Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
Possession of a valid California license.
