Position Summary The Lee lab in the University of Georgia (UGA) seeks a team‑oriented, highly motivated Research Professional to investigate the role of innate immune cells in the progression of Lewy body diseases. The position involves designing and conducting research projects, directing daily operations of a project team, maintaining protocols, and analyzing data. Applicants should be able to operate in vivo and in vitro models of synucleinopathies, collaborate with faculty and students, and present findings at conferences.
Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
Suitable experience in neuroscience, immunology, or molecular biology may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
Knowledge, Skills, Adequacies and Competencies
Neuroscience, immunology, and molecular biology skills
Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation
Ability to maintain equipment and laboratory supplies
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting
Duties / Responsibilities (60% Time)
Direct daily operations of a research project, including facilities, equipment maintenance, and personnel activities.
Monitor laboratory work to ensure compliance with standards.
Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare reports and summaries.
Conduct research or assist with data and sample collection.
Duties / Responsibilities (40% Time)
Operate computers, computer‑interfaced equipment, robotics, or other high‑technology applications to perform work duties.
Input data into databases and maintain research protocols, SOPs, and training manuals.
Clean, maintain, and prepare supplies and work areas.
Physical Demands Standing at a lab bench for long periods; lifting up to 50 lbs; sitting for long periods.
