The Senior Safety/Environmental Health Specialist performs professional safety and environmental engineering work in order to provide a clean, safe and healthy work environment, with a heavy focus on safety. The work requires a professional knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution, maintaining a safe environment and protecting quality of resources and the environment Key Responsibilities

Prepares and submits various regulatory required environmental reports, including but not limited to CAA Title-V, Sara Title III, EPCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, Local Discharge Permits to Municipal POTW, and emissions reduction reports. Manages the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS). Including review and updates to environmental policies and procedures. Site responsibility for any out-of-control condition reporting including unsafe behaviors as a result of daily audits in and around the manufacturing facility. Coordinate with WHQ resources as appropriate to respond to regulatory requests. Completes audits and recommends continuous improvement activities for the safety and ISO 14001 environmental programs. Participates in internal and external audits as well as assisting in the remediation of any findings. Manages Safety Management System (SMS). Including review and updates to safety policies and procedures. Prepares and submits various regulatory required safety reports, including but not limited annual injury summary, corporate safety score submissions and Global Safety Framework updates. Provides oversight and actively participates in the plant emergency response organization, by attending regularly scheduled meeting, preparing training, coordinating response drill and practice exercises. Schedules and coordinates a variety of required safety programs including but not limited to hearing conservation, blood borne pathogens, and ergonomics. Participates and supports the activities of all safety committees and promotes continuous improvement of safety performance through attending and conducting meetings, participating in inspections, and support the efforts of the safety steering committees. Prepares and presents site specific safety and environmental compliance training which may include but is not limited to lockout, confined spaces, ergonomics and press safety. Administration of Workers Compensation. Identify, evaluate, manage and minimize all environmental risks for the business. Ensure compliance meets or exceeds OSHA, EPA, State and local standards. Ensure plant management teams understand the inter-relationship between on-and-off-the-job safety, occupational and non-occupational health, workers compensation and medical costs. Degree Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Health and Safety, Chemistry or related field of study from a four‑year accredited institution. 5+ years related experience and training in industrial health, safety environment. Other Qualifications

Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations Thorough understanding of Workers Compensation Verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers Team building and motivation skills Thorough understanding of Governmental Laws and Regulations ~Organization and planning skills ~Read, analyze, interpret and present technical information to all levels of the organization ~Knowledge of automotive manufacturing environment What we believe
