About KIPP NYC Founded in 1995, KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non‑profit network of 18 free public charter schools across Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Our mission is to create joyful, academically excellent schools where every child learns to build a bright future.

Our College Prep High School (CPHS) serves more than 2,000 students in grades 9–12, offering 16 AP courses, 17 dual enrollment, 13 honors, extensive electives, and a full range of extracurriculars. 99% of CPHS graduates earn a college degree or equivalent within six or more years.

Position Overview KIPP NYC seeks teachers who can motivate students, foster academic and character skills, and deliver a college‑preparatory education that remains relevant and engaging.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan a college‑preparatory curriculum that combines school standards, New York State standards, and critical thinking skills.

Deliver rigorous daily lessons that inspire and challenge.

Assess student progress and communicate results to students, families, and colleagues.

Provide individual and small‑group instruction until all students achieve mastery.

Model KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions.

Guide a small group of students through four years of high school.

Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills and a collegial mindset, with personal traits such as grit, hope, social intelligence, and sense of humor.

Two or more years of teaching experience (strongly preferred).

New York State teaching certification in the relevant content area (strongly preferred).

Bachelor’s degree (required).

Passion for a team‑oriented, mission‑driven school culture.

Desire to grow as a teacher within the KIPP NYC network.

Demonstrated success in raising student achievement.

Compensation and Benefits KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary of $70,829 – $136,704, with steps based on experience, certification, and network longevity.
