Department: James – Critical Care Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant

Location: James Cancer Hospital (0375) – Columbus, OH

Scope of Position Responsible for providing health care services within the parameters of a standard care agreement or supervisory organization with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to provide full scope patient care. Focuses on preventive health or management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services authorized by credentialing bodies.

Position Summary The APP provides health care services to patients, collaborating with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Includes care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, counseling, health promotion, prevention, and referral to other providers and community resources when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.

Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program qualified to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing; or Master’s Degree in Nursing.

OR

Graduate of a PA-C program qualified to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and eligible for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C.

1 Year of Relevant Experience Preferred.

Additional Information Position Type: Regular – 40 hours per week – Rotating Shift. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
