SUMMARY Under general supervision of the Manager of Medical Imaging for the BHMGPC Division, operates X‑ray, bone density, and computerized tomography scanner equipment to produce images of any designated anatomical area. Makes independent decisions for organization and scheduling. Provides patient‑ and family‑centered care across all life‑span stages, aligning with Brown University Health and The Miriam Hospital values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates and maintains CT, XR, and BD equipment, performing calibration and quality assurance.
Prepares patients, screens for medication sensitivities, and administers contrast media.
Operates imaging protocols, monitors patient safety and equipment performance, and processes images in PACS.
Performs non‑routine computer functions, maintains records, and ensures compliance with safety and infection control policies.
Handles equipment maintenance, logs quality control and service reports, and supports staff training.
Supports scheduling, visits, and manages department supplies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of at least two years of formal training in a School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
Current XR and CT license to work in Rhode Island, ARRT CT certification.
Multimodality technologist (CT, BD, XR).
Two years of radiologic experience and one year in CT scan experience preferred.
Competence in starting IVs.
Ability to work independently within department policies, refer specific problems to manager as needed.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Work environment: acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices; ability to walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs.
PAY RANGE $38.78 - $64.00 per hour.
