Lecturer, Graphic Design Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) invites applicants for a non‑tenure‑track Lecturer position in the Graphic Design undergraduate program located at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) College of Art and Design.

Overview The successful candidate will teach four courses a term, including studio and lecture courses, participate in innovative curriculum development, render service to the school, college and university, and advise and mentor undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate studio and lecture courses in Graphic Design.

Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.

Render service to the School of Design, College of Art and Design and RIT.

Provide career advising and mentoring to undergraduate students.

Participate in professional organizations and scholarship activities.

Qualifications

MFA/MA in Graphic Design or a graduate degree in a related field.

Minimum of two years full‑time professional experience in graphic design and/or a related design field.

Teaching experience at the university level (college‑level adjunct or teaching assistant experience acceptable).

Fluency in practice areas such as Typography, Information Design, Experiential Design, Systems Design, Interactive Design, Web Design, Motion Design, Packaging Design, etc.

Solid understanding of software and ability to teach necessary skills (Adobe, Figma, AI tools, etc.).

Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design theory and practice.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
