Job Summary The University of North Georgia invites applications for a ten‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track position as Assistant Professor of Biology. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses such as majors or non‑majors' introductory biology, organismal classes such as vertebrate zoology and mammalogy, and possibly agriculture courses including, but not limited to, animal production, food production, or other special topics in agriculture.

Responsibilities

Expectations for this position are that 60% of the workload is dedicated to teaching and that 40% is divided between service and scholarship/professional development.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in biology or animal science.

Responsibilities also include scholarly work involving undergraduates; advising biology or agriculture students; service to the department, university and community; and professional development.

The ability to successfully incorporate technology and teach online is highly desirable.

Teaching assignments may extend to other campuses.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., or terminal degree, at the time of hire in biology, animal science or related discipline.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential with preferred experience at the college level.

A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
