SMH Venice is seeking a motivated and dedicated Supervisor of Environmental Services to oversee and ensure the efficient operation of the Environmental Services team throughout our facility. This critical role is responsible for leading a team of Environmental Aides and Environmental Techs, ensuring that services are provided in a timely, safe, and professional manner to meet the needs of patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in Environmental Services within a hospital setting, preferably with sterile areas such as Sterile Processing and the Operating Room. The candidate should a proven leader, working closely with frontline staff. Floor care experience is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of the Environmental Services team, ensuring proper cleanliness and infection control throughout the facility.
Monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure excellent service quality and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with various departments, including nursing, patient transport / linen services, and facilities management, to ensure seamless patient care.
Train and mentor staff in environmental services protocols and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to environmental services.
Handle scheduling, staffing needs, and any service issues related to environmental services.
Address patient and staff concerns or complaints related to environmental services and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
Ensure that equipment used in environmental services is properly maintained, cleaned, and functional.
Qualifications
Require an Associate degree; however, relevant experience in Hospitality Services (Hotel/Restaurant management, Environmental Service supervision) in a large healthcare setting can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
Require a minimum of five (5) years related Hospitality/Customer Service experience. Preferably in a large healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications - Prefer the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment with responsibility for multi-skilled positions.
Prefer the capability to direct, control, and coordinate activities of assigned personnel.
Required License and Certs FDL: Valid Driver's License
