GFT is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Water / Wastewater Design to help lead our Water Resources Design Team in Florida! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our South Florida offices.
What You’ll Do You will use your technical and management abilities to plan, design, and construct water/wastewater infrastructure in a dynamic team setting, mentor staff, guide business development activities, and lead integrated teams to meet client requirements, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality while increasing our backlog, project revenue, and profitability with current and new clients.
Responsibilities
Coordinate, participate in, and lead project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities across the Southeast region.
Collaborate with engineering staff in a hands‑on, delivery‑focused environment, including developing and implementing study and design standards for consultants, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and tracking project schedules and budgets.
Manage Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility Design, including basis of design reports, plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, condition assessments, and technical evaluations.
Regularly communicate and interact with clients and regulating government agencies, including presentations and project coordination.
Oversee construction contract management and inspection services.
Supervise and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
Demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal skills.
Engage within the water/wastewater industry.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (MS preferred).
15+ years of experience in the water/wastewater discipline, particularly as a water/wastewater engineer designing water and/or wastewater infrastructure (study, plans and specifications).
Professional Engineer License (PE) in Florida.
Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing integrated teams, including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities.
Experienced in client relations and business development.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM.
Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation.
