Position Overview The PLL is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Coordinator who excels at building authentic connections with audiences across digital platforms. This role is responsible for developing engaging content, managing community interactions, and amplifying the PLL brand voice across all social channels.
The ideal candidate will serve as the digital voice for a PLL Team, creating thumb-stopping content that resonates with both lifelong lacrosse fans and newcomers to the sport. You'll collaborate with various departments of the league to develop compelling visual stories, timely reactive content, and innovative campaigns that drive engagement and grow our community.
This position requires a deep understanding of social media trends, platform-specific best practices, and the ability to adapt tone and style across multiple channels. You'll monitor the PLL online ecosystem, engage authentically with fans, handle community management, and identify opportunities to join relevant conversations that elevate the league's presence.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years experience managing social media for a brand, sports team, or organization
Portfolio demonstrating successful social media content and campaigns
Strong proficiency across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms
Basic video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms
Exceptional copywriting abilities with platform-specific expertise and strong attention to detail
Experience creating TikToks, Instagram Reels, Stories, and other short-form vertical content
Deep knowledge of internet culture, memes, and social media trends
Understanding of lacrosse (rules, players, teams) or strong willingness to learn quickly
Passion for sports with ability to create content for both dedicated fans and casual audiences
Self-motivated with excellent organizational, project management, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain composure under pressure
Strong collaboration and communication skills with creative and cross‑functional teams
Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and travel for games and events
Compensation
$55,000 - $65,000
Based on the candidate’s experience, seniority, and location
The total compensation package includes Annual Bonus, Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) plan, Equity Sharing, Mental Health Stipend, Unlimited PTO, and Paid Parental Leave
