Job Summary
Under general direction of the Wraparound Center of Excellence (COE) Program Director, the Communications Specialist will manage external communications for the Wraparound COE program at UC Davis CPE Human Services, including written, visual and digital communications. This position works in collaboration with the UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education Strategic Communications manager and Human Services marketing and program staff.
Communications activities may include writing blog articles and other web content, editing program curriculum materials, graphic design, publication design, video editing, photography and managing and maintaining the Wraparound COE program on the UC Davis CPE Human Services website.
In addition, the Communications Specialist will develop and maintain communication strategies for email campaigns, social
media and events in alignment with the UC Davis CPE brand.
Working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, this position produces content marketing that provides value, builds connection and credibility, and ensures brand and style consistency, logic, organization and accuracy in all work produced.
This position works both autonomously and collaboratively with marketing colleagues and program specialists to develop innovative, strategic and appropriately targeted content and marketing materials designed to generate inquiries, acquire enrollments, inform audiences, position our brand as a leader in the human services field and fulfill contract requirements.
Contributes to day-to‑day management of the Human Services website, including content updates and publishing of new content using our content management system (CMS).
Designs marketing materials (including fliers, factsheets, posters, infographics, video/presentation slides and other graphics) using branded templates in Canva and other design applications and ensures ADA‑accessibilities of these materials.
Coordinates and collaborates in the production of short‑form Human Services videos, including conference/program presenter profiles, student success stories and program promotional videos.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Experience writing engaging and informative copy that reflects marketing goals and the needs and interests of target audiences and stakeholders.
Extensive experience working in a high-volume communications/publications environment, meeting critical deadlines and coordinating multiple assignments at various stages of development.
Experience working in a creative capacity with the ability to concept and produce effective graphics, fliers, publications and other marketing materials.
Experience working effectively both independently and as part of a team with a high level of accuracy, collaboration and follow-through.
Oral and written communication skills to interact with coworkers and clients in an efficient, productive and collaborative manner. Advanced knowledge of grammar, punctuation and AP Style.
Extensive skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite of applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education or human services.
Experience with web design using a CMS such as Drupal.
Experience using Salesforce and/or Marketing Cloud.
Advanced knowledge of grammar, punctuation and AP Style.
