Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Housekeeping Worker. In this role, the successful candidate will maintain an approved level of cleanliness and sanitary conditions within the areas assigned to the Medical Center.
Job Responsibilities
Maintains established safety and infection control guidelines. Uses proper body mechanics, wears gloves at all times and follows infection control procedures. Requests assistance when lifting or moving items too large or too heavy. Advises supervisor of any hazardous conditions in the area.
Performs sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, spot washing and high dusting. Completes thorough cleaning of assigned areas in accordance with departmental procedures and supervisor instructions. Uses Bed Tracking System for receiving discharges and reporting completed discharges.
Maintains adequate cleaning supplies throughout the work day and empties trash receptacles. Performs high dusting and sanitizes surfaces. Knowledge in hospital safety, RACE, PASS, chemical and trash safety, MSDS interpretation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to communicate and understand simple directions in English.
Must be able to read MSDS and chemical labels.
