Summary The Department of Secondary Partnerships & Initiatives is seeking faculty for a full-time Lecturership in English. This non‑tenure‑track position commences Fall 2026. The candidate will teach five dual‑credit courses, primarily lower‑level English, each semester, and should have experience teaching high‑school and developmental or other writing courses at post‑secondary institutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate‑level economics courses
Work closely with program and departmental administration
Prepare syllabi and update course materials
Participate in curriculum development and assessment
Deliver instruction to high‑school students, both online and in person
Travel to local school districts to teach dual‑credit courses
Assist in evaluating dual‑credit instructors in the subject area
Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs
Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current learning trends, best teaching practices, and technological applications, including online teaching
Plan and create lectures, in‑class discussions, and assignments
Assess grades based on participation, performance, assignments, and examinations
Assist/mentor students as needed
Minimum Requirements
Education: Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field, or a terminal degree for graduate courses
Experience: Minimum 3 years teaching
Knowledge/Skills: Excellent oral and written communication
Ability: Multitask and work cooperatively with others
Licensing/Professional Certifications: Recommended TEA teacher’s certification
Physical Requirements: Ability to travel
Other Requirements: Flexible schedule
Preferred Education / Skills / Experience
High‑school teaching experience
College or university teaching experience
Evidence of teaching excellence
Supervision of Others N/A
