Position Overview We are searching for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide psychosocial care for children, families, and vulnerable populations at Riley Hospital, Indianapolis.

Location:

Riley Hospital, Indianapolis Shift:

Full‑time days (3–12 hr shifts/week) with rotating weekends (6 AM–6 PM) and on‑call/holiday rotation.

As an LCSW, you will deliver expert psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, discharge planning, and crisis management in a dynamic hospital environment.

Collaborate with the clinical team to develop treatment plans addressing psychosocial needs.

Communicate complex patient/family needs and model caring practices.

Assess psychosocial risk factors, prior functioning, support systems, and reactions to illness.

Counsel patients and families on emotional, social, and financial impacts of health issues.

Mobilize community and family resources to meet identified needs.

Provide mental health assessments upon physician referral.

Facilitate complex discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care.

Serve as the point person for cases involving abuse, neglect, domestic violence, guardianship, foster care, and adoption.

Act as liaison with child and adult protective services and community agencies.

Support crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques, including managing potentially dangerous situations.

Utilize evidence‑based psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention strategies.

Lead decision‑making conversations about goals of care and discharge planning.

Adapt services to meet the needs of diverse populations across cultural, geographic, and financial backgrounds.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.

Licensure:

Permanent LCSW licensure required.

Certifications:

Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent de‑escalation training within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

Proven experience in crisis intervention, mental health, or substance use disorders, preferably in hospital or pediatric settings.

Knowledge & Skills:

Evidence‑based psychosocial assessment and short‑term therapeutic counseling.

Knowledge of disease processes and human behavior related to health social needs.

Complex discharge planning and coordination skills.

Familiarity with legal mandates for child and adult protective services.

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies.

Computer literacy and proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.

Experience serving geographically, culturally, and financially diverse populations.

May be scheduled for on‑call shifts and holiday rotations.
