The System Administrator provides technical software, hardware and network problem resolution to computer users by performing troubleshooting and problem diagnosis, guiding users through step‑by‑step solutions. The System Administrator communicates technical solutions in a user‑friendly, professional manner and provides one‑on‑one end‑user training as needed. Responsibilities include installation and upgrades of hardware and software, basic account management, backup system maintenance, assistance with network changes and upgrades, and maintenance of an inventory of laptops, servers, printers and network hardware.
Primary Duties
Provide technical support on basic issues with Microsoft Office, Windows 11, Remote Access, VPN, basic cabling, printer connectivity, and peripheral devices.
Use own initiative to research technical solutions to known problems and document them in a support solution database for diagnostics and future reference.
Manage, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows Servers running on VMware vSphere 0.
Learn and manage SAN storage devices on Fiber.
Maintain, manage, and change WAN and LAN IP networks for multiple sites across the Southern U.S.
Facilitate workstation replacements for existing equipment and process equipment for new installations.
Maintain, monitor, and make changes to backup processes.
Have experience in managing IT equipment.
Possess advanced knowledge of computer networking.
Manage Microsoft Office 365.
Be able to travel overnight to other offices.
Be able to take scheduled calls.
Job Requirements
Associate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (preferred).
1 to 3 years’ experience in Helpdesk Support or Desktop Administration.
Good troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and prioritize more complex LAN, hardware, and software issues; understanding of client‑server systems.
Good listening and problem‑solving skills, professional phone etiquette.
Ability to work independently, follow tasks through to completion.
Functional knowledge of networking; can configure a PC for network access.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 per year
Seniority Level: Entry level
