Job Description Responsible for processing, researching, analyzing, and managing ambulance claims for assigned payor types.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure claims are billed on a timely basis
Monitor postings and billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations
Work with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's and clients to collect all balances
Manage actions related to delinquent accounts and minimize write‑offs
Provide technical assistance to staff for training purposes and problem solving
Achieve performance goals and objectives (individual or departmental) as established by the manager
Manage resources to meet department goals
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff
Other tasks as needed
Qualifications
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMO's and hospice billing
Analyzed accounts receivable for accuracy and filed reconsideration on denied claims
Submit, adjust, and void Medicare and Medicaid claims efficiently
Experience working with insurance portals
Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Working knowledge of medical terminology/ICD‑10 codes, preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work independently and with a group
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Requirements
Must have access to high‑speed internet – at least 20 Mbps download, and must be hardwired
In person and hybrid in the Oklahoma City area
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work may require sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and operate a motor vehicle
Travel Time Negligible
