Job Summary
The
Maintenance Technician
is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facility systems in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures production equipment operates safely and efficiently to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The Technician must be skilled in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm, Monday–Friday) Start Date: January 2026
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production machinery, tools, and facility systems (e.g., HVAC, compressors, electrical panels).
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
Repair or replace defective components, including motors, bearings, belts, sensors, pumps, valves, and wiring.
Perform welding, fabrication, or machining when necessary for equipment repair or modification.
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
Execute scheduled PM tasks according to maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.
Document all maintenance and service activities accurately in maintenance logs or CMMS.
Identify trends in equipment failure and recommend long‑term solutions.
Facility Support
Support building and utility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.
Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and ensure safety compliance.
Assist in plant or equipment upgrades, installations, and relocations.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures during maintenance activities.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures must be followed during repair or servicing of machinery.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including maintenance shop and spare parts inventory.
Report unsafe conditions, worn equipment, or potential hazards immediately.
Continuous Improvement
Provide input for equipment upgrades and improvements to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action teams to eliminate chronic maintenance issues.
Support kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives within the maintenance function.
Specific Skill Set
Communication: Skilled in delivering clear instructions, providing constructive feedback, and documenting information accurately.
Presentation: Strong presentation skills with attention to flow, clarity, and visual story telling using presentation tools.
System: Proficient with CMMS systems.
Analytics: Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Education & Work Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, PLCs, and other diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with CMMS systems is a plus.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
Team player with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and working in tight spaces.
Comfortable working at heights or in varying temperatures depending on facility conditions.
Work Environment
The work environment is usually in an office within a manufacturing facility with low to moderate noise level.
Ability to work well with others one on one, remote, via video and phone.
Ability to work independently.
