We are seeking an individual to operate Asphalt Plant(s) in Gurdon, Arkansas. This is a full-time hourly position with benefits. Redstone produces Hot Mix Asphalt placed on streets and roads in the Central Arkansas Area. Prior experience in asphalt plant operation is highly desired. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities
Operate asphalt plant controls to heat, dry and mix sand, stone and oil to produce asphalt paving materials.
Observe gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.
Perform daily equipment inspection.
Ensure proper mix design is produced and sent to the job.
Operate the plant in a safe way to ensure safety of personnel at the plant or delivery materials.
Assist with plant maintenance, repair and routine servicing.
Order liquid asphalt, aggregates and other materials or parts.
Work closely with the Contracting Superintendent with respect to production.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing business issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner.
Coordinate trucking operations to ensure accurate on-time delivery of aggregate materials to the plant.
Log materials in and out of inventory as materials are delivered and are used in the production.
Manage the loader operation at the plant, and ensure materials are placed in the correct bins.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Maintain strong organizational and administrative skills.
Work independently and manage multiple tasks; work in a team environment with colleagues at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Exchange.
Be able to work extended hours during the busy season, including weekends.
Read maps and monitor/adjust production levels based on customer needs.
Coordinate truck flow on the job and assist with plant teardown and setup when moving to a remote location.
Accurately complete state-regulated plant documentation.
Keep the plant area neat and clean.
Qualifications
Acceptable driving record.
Good communication skills.
General mechanical knowledge.
Ability to maintain safe working conditions.
Experience with asphalt environmental operations preferred.
Basic welding skills preferred.
Climbing ladders/stairs and working at heights up to 75 feet on a platform.
Capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 75 lbs for approximately 20 feet.
Ability to work outside in all weather elements.
Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical skills.
Team player who can pass pre-employment drug test.
Pursuant to Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is designated safety-sensitive according to company standards.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Outdoor work in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
Stand for long periods and walk on uneven terrain.
Work varied hours including Saturdays and overtime.
Climbing ladders/stairs and working at heights up to 75 feet on a platform.
Promptness is a high priority.
