PURPOSE: The Clerk and Recorder’s Office exists to support and educate our community through prioritizing trust, inclusion, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUCCESS: This role assists with the day-to-day activities of the Voter Services program. This position assists with allocating resources necessary for the administration of voter registration data entry, data clean up, customer service, and mailings. Assists with preparing and maintaining records and reports. This position will collaborate with the Elections team to ensure efficient, accurate election processes.

Assists with all aspects of the voter service programs which includes scheduling of temporary employees.

Acts as a backup in the absence of the Voter Services Manager.

Responsible for creating the weekly work schedule. Assign personnel to voter service duties and schedule coverage as appropriate.

Assists with developing, maintaining, training, and testing SCORE data entry procedures, and conducts training for all elections staff.

Assists with coordination and communication with Adams County entities.

Ability to acquire and maintain a technical working knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, Secretary of State rules, regulations, policies, standards, and/or procedures.

Drafts and sends correspondence and/or forms as necessary or required.

Assists with tracking data entry, phone logs, and in-person assistance.

May supervise temporary, part-time, or seasonal employees during the election process.

Registers eligible voters in Adams County

Processes mail, voter correspondence, notices, and voter registration forms

Assists with monthly SCORE maintenance

Assists with maintaining address library and district/precinct databases. Modify databases for changes of address and political boundaries.

Maintain positive professional relationships with vendors and business partners.

Maintains high level of training, certification, and education relating to election administration.

Provides assistance in other areas of the Clerk and Recorder's Office as needed.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

General knowledge of election administration processes and procedures.

Uses technology to perform a variety of complex tasks and assists others in operating computers or other office equipment as necessary.

Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Ability to perform strenuous work such as loading, unloading, and lifting heavy objects.

Ability to preparea variety of routine correspondence, forms, and reports.

Ability to work extended hours, as needed, during election cycles. Position will require greater than 40 hours/week during election cycles.

Understands urgency and sets priorities appropriately.

Ability to meet all statutory and workflow deadlines in order to successfully complete elections.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Establishes, maintains, and fosters positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Ability to exercise attention to detail in performing assigned tasks.

Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling confidential information.

Experience: One year of election administration-related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Education and Training: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

License or Certificate:

Ability to become deputized.

Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License, state mandated auto insurance, and own transportation are required.

Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.

Other:

Must be registered to vote in Colorado.

Ability to lift a minimum of 25 to 50 pounds on a regular basis
