Job Summary:
The Dining Services Associate performs designated serving, cleaning/dishwashing, cooking, prepping, and other duties for the dining department and is accountable to the Director of Dining. This versatile role supports Dining Operations and flexes between various assignments.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables.
Perform defined work routines using dining utensils, supplies, and equipment.
Follow sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and senior living/healthcare requirements.
Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed.
“Open” and “Close” kitchen and dining rooms as needed.
Wash and store dishes.
Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
Education and Work Experience
Required: High school diploma.
Required: Current Food Handler’s Permit.
Preferred: ServSafe training.
Desired: One year of food service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective communication in English with residents and staff.
Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices.
Professional demeanor and compassion toward senior adults.
Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
Ability to perform under limited supervision.
Time management and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation, and serving principles.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (stooping, bending, reaching, etc.).
Physical Requirements
May be required to lift or carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling/pushing, long periods walking/standing.
May be required to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch.
Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform duties.
Compensation Pay Range: $14.01 - $16.96 per hour
