Position Summary The Operations & Facilities Management Department (OFMD) at WashU Medicine provides essential services that sustain the medical campus’ mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education. OFMD manages the maintenance and operation of more than 65 buildings, encompassing over 14.8 million gross square feet, including the 11‑story, 609,000‑square‑foot Neuroscience Research Building (NRB), home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of neuroscientists. Our team delivers operational and administrative support, strategic planning, and project management to ensure efficient, safe, and innovative facility operations.

Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and reports any findings or issues to the appropriate personnel.
Assists the manager with ordering and tracking inventory.
Performs Elevator Recall Testing.
Performs emergent repairs.
Keeps managers aware of facility conditions, problems, and needs.
Cleans HVAC coils.
Lubricates compressors, dampers, motors, fans, and pumps as scheduled.
Changes filters, adjusts, and replaces belts on air‑handling units, compressed air systems, and supply and exhaust fans.
Inspects mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and proper operation.
Performs exterior lighting checks.
Ensures outside and roof drains are kept clear of debris.
Cleans equipment and spaces as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions
Typically work: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Alternative work schedule as a regular part of the job (on call, weekends)
Normal office environment
High noise environment
Stockroom or warehouse
Dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements
Requires extensive safety training
Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens
Exposure to chemicals
Exposure to animals
Physical Effort
Typically bending, crouching, and stooping
Typically standing or walking
Typically running or climbing

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
