Material Handler I - 2nd & 3rd Shift
Join Maker's Pride as a Material Handler responsible for storing, moving, and handling products and materials in a structured manufacturing environment. The role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintains safety and quality standards.
Hours of Operation Monday through Friday + overtime/ weekends.
2nd Shift:
2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
3rd Shift:
10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for transporting, packing, and disposing of products and materials while maintaining inventory, operating equipment safely, and supporting 5S housekeeping.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of products and materials.
Operate forklifts, handcarts, or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle, and load/unload orders.
Maintain inventory levels as directed.
Feed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision.
Ship and receive materials throughout the shift.
Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
Count, weigh, and record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.
Ensure that product moved is identified and labeled correctly.
Perform housekeeping to maintain 5S, sweeping floors, and disposing of trash.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Knowledge of GMPs or willingness to learn.
Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days.
Ability to operate stand‑up and extended forklifts.
Sufficient math skills.
Understanding and following all safety policies and procedures.
Reading and writing in English preferred.
Job Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be 18 years of age.
Previous material handling experience a plus, varies by location.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and varying temperatures.
Team environment requiring respectful communication.
Willingness to work overtime and across shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements
Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day.
Ability to lift up to 90 lbs assisted and 40 lbs unassisted.
Ability to stand up to 80% of the scheduled shift.
Ability to walk, climb, and/or balance throughout the shift.
