Survey Instrument Operator
Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Duties/Responsibilities
Candidates must be able to collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
Assist Party Chief in running the field operations.
Operate and maintain various surveying instruments, such as transits, levels, theodolites, and electronic distance measuring equipment to measure and verify elevations, angles, and distances.
Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
Adhere to local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura Engineering procedures.
Monitor accurate completion of daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections.
Perform mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points.
Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
Cleans, checks, and adjusts survey instruments to assure accuracy of measurements.
Oversee surveying activities in the absence of Survey Party Chief.
Perform related work as required.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of utilizing data collectors, robotic and non-robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
1+ years of experience in land surveying.
Experience with GDOT.
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable.
Willing to train the right candidate without the above noted experience.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Must be willing and able to travel as required for the role.
Physical Requirements
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
