Job Summary As a Loader, you will efficiently handle loading material onto flatbed trailers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards. You will stage material properly by following safe stacking guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Read work orders to accurately load materials averaging 20‑25 ft long onto flatbed trailers.
Operate a forklift and other material‑handling equipment.
Load/unload materials from pallets, racks, trailers, and shelves by hand or forklift.
Install bracing or dunnage to prevent shifting or damage to material in transit using hand tools.
Move materials to designated areas using a forklift or overhead crane.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during the loading/unloading process.
Report issues or concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience handling long material (30‑45 ft long) with a forklift.
Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high‑quality, accurate work.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to read work orders and follow oral instructions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy and/or require PPE.
