Floyd County Board of Commissioners
We are looking for an Office Specialist I.
The purpose of this classification is to perform secretarial and administrative work functions in support of the Floyd County Assessor’s Office.
Essential Functions
Greets and directs visitors, as and when appropriate; resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning office activities.
Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles.
Distribute documentation or maintains records
Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of department functions, including but not limited to establishing and maintaining files and maintaining computer record-keeping functions.
Maintains file system of departmental records.
Submits newspaper and social media advertisements.
Compiles and tracks various administrative and statistical data pertaining to departmental operations.
Schedules meetings, prepares agendas and meeting packets, attends meetings, records/transcribes meeting minutes, distributes documentation.
Enacts, performs, and completes various errands as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience in secretarial work or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
