The OSU Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. The Social Worker functions as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team on a patient care unit. The treatment team reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The social worker provides patient care and supportive services aimed at achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing patient involvement in their own care plan, improving service levels, reducing length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs.
Responsibilities
Provide 24‑hour inpatient care, 23‑hour observation, and Adult Partial Hospitalization Program services for psychiatric patients.
Conduct psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, and patient/family education.
Assist with discharge planning to facilitate transition from hospital treatment to ongoing mental health care.
Qualifications
Masters Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a major in social work.
Masters of Social Work Degree from an accredited graduate school of social work.
Current State of Ohio Social Work Licensure.
Previous social work experience in a similar setting preferred.
