Surgical Dental Assistant @ Boynton Beach Oral Surgery Overview

Boynton Beach Oral Surgery is looking for a Surgical Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Candidates must be EFDA & X-ray certified in FL with hands‑on surgical dental assisting experience (with IV sedation) to be considered.

Hours

Mon – Fri 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities

Clinical support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, & assist dentists during procedures.

Patient care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene & post‑treatment care.

Radiography & Diagnostics: Take & develop X‑rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, & follow workplace regulations.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling & patient intake (if needed).

Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug & oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Completion of a one‑year certified dental assistant program.

Six months on‑the‑job experience (with supporting documentation).

X‑ray certification & EFDA license in FL.

Nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Surgical assisting with IV sedation experience.

Additional Requirements

Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
