Key Account Manager – Domestic Freight Forwarding
Allstates WorldCargo is seeking an experienced logistics professional to join our team as a Key Account Manager – Domestic Freight Forwarding. This role is responsible for managing, retaining, and growing key customer relationships within our domestic 3PL operations. This role requires a strong understanding of domestic freight forwarding, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to leverage technology to deliver best‑class logistics solutions.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for your assigned clients, ensuring smooth execution of freight activities, proactive communication, and strategic account growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced logistics environment and combines customer service excellence with strong analytical and technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Account Management & Customer Experience
Serve as the main liaison for key domestic freight forwarding customers, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service
Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships as a trusted logistics advisor
Conduct quarterly and annual business reviews to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and proactively communicate shipment updates
Operational Coordination & Execution
Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and carrier partners to support timely pickup, transit, and delivery across domestic modes (LTL, FTL, air, intermodal)
Ensure accuracy in routing, pricing, billing, and documentation
Support customers with shipment visibility and digital tools
Collaborate with internal teams to address service issues and support continuous improvement
Strategic & Analytical Responsibilities
Analyze customer performance data to identify cost efficiencies and service improvements
Prepare detailed reports and KPI dashboards for internal and customer use
Monitor account profitability and recommend pricing or operational adjustments as needed
Support strategic initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and operational efficiency
Use Allstates WorldCargo’s Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage daily account activity
Apply analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to measure performance and identify trends
Encourage customer engagement with digital visibility tools and process automation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
3–5 years of experience in domestic freight forwarding, 3PL operations, or logistics account management
Solid understanding of U.S. domestic transportation (LTL, FTL, air, intermodal)
Strong communication and customer relationship skills
Highly detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and organizational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and related tools
Experienced with TMS and CRM systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Key Performance Indicators
