Job Summary
Shipping & Receiving Clerk
at
AAR
Perform manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties in a central warehouse. Use paper and computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting. Follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules, and requirements. Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment. Un()-pack or un()-wrap items such as raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; log receipt of items on system, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; report materials shipped and bills of lading; post weight and shipping charges and route merchandise to destinations. May operate tier‑lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping‑and‑receiving platform to storage or work area.
Responsibilities
Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Determine method of shipment.
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
Package contents according to instructions.
Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape.
Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operate tier‑lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Fabricate wooden crates or boxes and package flight control surfaces and aircraft structural components, or other large or oddly shaped products, as necessary or assigned.
Be able to read/use a standard tape measure, metal bander, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic staple gun, and impact gun.
Perform other various duties as needed or assigned.
Job Details Primary location: United States, Arkansas, Hot Springs – Triumph Airborne Structures. Schedule: Full‑time. Overtime status: Non‑exempt.
