Responsibilities
Springwoods Behavioral Health is an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, providing acute inpatient treatment for adolescents, adults, and a specialty program for women, as well as outpatient treatment. Our six‑acre campus is adjacent to a 123‑acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, offering a peaceful setting for those on the road to recovery.
We’re seeking a dedicated Utilization Review Specialist (URS) to join our team and ensure that the services provided to our facility’s residents are in full compliance with established quality standards. This role involves maintaining the highest standards of patient care quality, reviewing medical records, and advocating for proper treatment.
Qualifications The UM Coordinator coordinates the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of Springwoods Behavioral Health’s utilization review functions. The UM Coordinator will achieve the goals of clinical, financial, and utilization as set forth in the UM plan by effective management and communication. The UM Coordinator functions as the internal resource on issues related to the appropriate utilization of resources, coordination of care across the continuum, and utilization review. The UM Coordinator is responsible for carrying out assignments to assure success in financial management, quality, and operational management objectives. The UM Coordinator participates in program development and unit performance improvement and consistently demonstrates the core values and mission statement of Springwoods Behavioral Health.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, social work, psychology).
Strong knowledge of medical records review processes and utilization standards.
Familiarity with federal, state, and county regulations pertaining to patient care.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex information.
Effective communication skills for advocating on behalf of residents and collaborating with medical providers.
Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with patients and their treatment needs.
