Job Details This role is responsible for the complete design of metal stamping dies and related tooling. You’ll collaborate closely with a cross‑functional team to develop high‑performing, cost‑effective solutions that meet both internal standards and customer specifications. Your expertise in tool design, CAD software, and forming analysis will be essential to the success of our manufacturing operations.
What You’ll Do
Create strip layouts and design stamping dies, gauges, fixtures, and tooling.
Support quoting efforts with accurate layout proposals.
Apply forming simulation software to optimize tool function.
Participate in design reviews and process planning meetings.
Provide technical support to the toolroom during die construction.
Source and quote purchased die components as part of complete design packages.
Recommend materials, components, and construction methods to enhance tool longevity and performance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused workspace.
What You’ll Need
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or Journeyman certification.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in die design.
Strong skills in CAD software, forming analysis tools, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Hands‑on familiarity with toolroom equipment and inspection tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primary work in an office setting; occasional time in production and toolroom areas. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring close vision, color vision, depth perception, and fine motor skills. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, and hearing protection when in designated areas.
