Hiring Range: $30 per hour Estimated Duration of Appointment: 6 months not to exceed 11 months Job Summary UNC Police is seeking to hire qualified individuals as sworn Reserve Police Officers to serve in a part-time capacity. The Reserve Police Officer positions will be required to work a minimum of three (3) home football games, four (4) home basketball games, and two (2) additional events such as plays, concerts, lectures, and celebrations. The Reserve Officers do not work on patrol squads and do not assist with patrol shift coverage. These are at-will, intermittent temporary positions. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency. Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission or the ability to achieve certification within one year of employment. Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience Current certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience Law enforcement experience. Special Physical/Mental Requirements Candidate must meet physical and psychological requirements of the North Carolina Criminal Education and Standards Commission, including a physical exam, psychological exam, and drug test. Additionally, UNC Police requires a polygraph examination. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. The officer must report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training on reporting responsibilities.
