POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES DGOC is looking for a Landman to support its Central Division operations. The Landman will focus on resolving issues for our Land, Operations, Midstream, and Accounting teams as well as an initial contact point for Lessors and property owners. The ideal candidate will have in-house land experience with a reputable Oil & Gas Company.
Evaluating and negotiating routine well acquisitions and divestitures
Managing Non-Op well proposals and elections
Provide support to the Engineering, Drilling, and Operations teams
Experience in or ability to prepare and execute assignments, letter agreements, leases, surface damage agreements and various other Land & A*D related documents
Ability to manage Land Contractors or Land Brokers on a particular project
Knowledgeable with Joint Operating Agreements, Farm-ins & Farm-outs, and other Oil & Gas related agreements
Ensuring appropriate communications and paperwork are submitted to Management
Resolving routine and complex ownership issues
Supporting acquisition due diligence and records assimilation
Serving as point-of-contact for assigned projects
Addressing operational hurdles such as access issues and Landowner complaints
Researches and provides documentation of leases, rights-of-way, joint ventures, and other types of oil and gas agreements
Performs in-house title information gathering, organizes and analyzes title documents to assess rights information, and performs internal title updates
Ability to identify omissions or errors on a lease or title, takes the appropriate steps to cure them
Negotiates and Settles Damage Settlements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Land or Business or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years of in-house experience with an Oil and Gas company.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to negotiate complex Land documents including JOAs, farmout Agreements, Letter Agreements etc.
Ability to work independently with some guidance.
Highly organized and with a strong work ethic.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel), PDF, GIS and oil and gas accounting software programs.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
