Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Coordinator. The successful candidate will initiate, coordinate, and manage research studies conducted at the Medical Center, oversee financial and protocol development, assist with recruitment, grant submissions, and study coordination, and serve as liaison with funding agencies. The role requires ensuring accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and all regulatory obligations. The coordinator will work autonomously with limited oversight and provide guidance to research support staff.

Responsibilities

Develop draft budgets, monitor budgets throughout trials, recommend staffing levels, and prepare funding reports to agencies.

Submit necessary documents to the NYU Institutional Board (IRB) and NYU Office of Clinical Trials for approval of human subjects research; secure accurate signatures and forward documents.

Prepare progress reports for funding agencies and regulatory bodies; recommend changes to data fields and generate comprehensive measurement reports.

Assist with the informed consent process, ensure participants fully understand the study, and monitor safety concerns.

Oversee planning and management of study activities for multiple projects; review progress and take appropriate actions.

Prepare grant applications and coordinate related activities; collect and organize required paperwork.

Manage recruitment, screen potential participants, and coordinate eligibility assessments with the Principal Investigator.

Make data‑based decisions, solve complex problems, and refer unresolved issues to the supervisor.

Provide guidance, training, and leadership to less experienced staff; may contribute to staff evaluations.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience coordinating clinical/research trial studies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Internet application skills and effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication.

Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and to work with both internal and external customers.

Team‑oriented and independent work capability, strong time‑management and multitasking skills.

Solid understanding of coordination requirements for clinical/research trials and problem‑solving ability under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Certification (required in some disciplines).

Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Salary Salary range: $67,771.14 – $88,970.14 annually.
