Overview

Dr. Tsai-Yi Lu’s laboratory at the Department of Neuroscience is seeking an experienced postdoctoral scholar to support research projects studying the homeostasis of oligodendrocyte lineage cells in brain health and disease. Responsibilities

Conduct independent research to understand the molecular mechanisms behind metabolically driven oligodendrogenesis. Assist with lab mouse colony maintenance and training personnel. Prepare manuscripts presenting original research results for peer review. Communicate with collaborators to complete designated research projects. Full‑time research or scholarship at the University; preparation for a full‑time academic or research career; supervision by a senior scholar allowing publication of results. Other duties may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree. Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs. Position Type & Work Location

This is an exempt‑level, benefited position. This is a restricted position, dependent on funding and contingent upon funding availability. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on‑site. About UCLA & The Community
