Hydroclimatology .
The anticipated start date for the position is between May 1 and September 30, 2022. Appointments are for one year, with the possibility of renewal depending upon satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The position will focus on hydroclimatic variability under climate change. The successful candidate will investigate changes in the seasonality, generation mechanism, intensity, and intermittency of precipitation in the southeastern United States, with specific emphasis on the role of land‑atmosphere interactions and the link between vegetation‑climate relations and precipitation.
River‑Coastal Science & Engineering is a diverse and welcoming community of scientists with excellent scholarship across the civil, environmental, and coastal ocean engineering disciplines, with elements of geosciences and ecological sciences. The department focuses on the world’s river, deltaic and coastal systems using a combined science and engineering approach.
In line with the cross‑disciplinary nature of the department, the candidate will be expected to build strong links with collaborators in the Departments of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University, and with the Tulane ByWater Institute.
