iCook/iSTEAM After School is an innovative educational company that provides a fun, hands‑on after‑school cooking and nutrition education program for children age K‑4. The program enriches children’s lives by teaching them to love food, cooking delicious and healthy dishes, and learning about different cultures and stories behind the food. The iSTEAM program focuses on hands‑on, observable experiments. Instructors will teach provided lesson plans related to basics of Engineering and Tech, Chemistry, Science through Art, and beyond.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead after‑school cooking/STEAM classes for elementary students (K‑4), getting them excited about fun recipes, experiments, new foods, and cultures.
Teach lesson plans about nutrition and healthy eating in an engaging way.
Introduce basic cutting, measuring, food safety, table manners, and other concepts from the curriculum.
Purchase groceries for each class based on the recipes provided (reimbursement available).
What We Are Looking For
Experience working with large groups of kids (school setting, summer camp, etc.).
Enthusiastic about teaching, cooking, and nutrition.
Effective classroom management skills.
Energetic personality that keeps students engaged during the class.
Punctual, reliable, with reliable transportation.
Schedule
All classes run in the afternoon between 2‑5 pm, typically one hour long.
Maximum of 5 classes per week, or one class per day, based on availability.
Pay is $70 per class (includes preparation and clean‑up).
Employment type: Part‑time. Seniority level: Entry level. Industry: Education Management.
