This individual is responsible for the instruction and training of new security monitors, scheduling and assigning them to designated posts. The individual also tours the facility to ensure the protection of personnel and residents. Salary
$42,000 - $46,000 Major Duties And Responsibilities
Directs staff, visitors, and clients to requested designations. Answers questions and gives directions relative to services. Maintains security log with all movements of personnel and/or visitors in and out of the premises and any unusual occurrences. Supervises facility security staff and ensures appropriate level of coverage in conjunction with the Director of Homeless Services Program. Instructs and trains newly appointed security staff in the maintenance of security log, mail system, intake of deliveries, security procedures, fire safety processes, etc. Schedules and assigns security staff to designated posts and conducts tours to ensure the protection of personnel and the security of the premises. Performs additional functions as assigned by the Director. Conducts fire drills and maintains fire drill log as directed. Inspects alarm system daily to ensure protection of premises. Ensures the completion of all incident‑related documentation as required by URI and DHS. Is available to work doubles and flexible shifts. Participates in monthly staff meetings and training seminars conducted to enhance and develop one’s skills. Meets with the Assistant Director for group supervision, facilitates meetings with security monitor staff. Specifications For Education/Certifications/Licenses
High School Diploma Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Required Skills And Experience
Three years of previous experience as a security officer. Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of homelessness within disenfranchised communities, including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Experience working in a 24‑hour residential facility, ability to work with minimum supervision and as a team player. Equal Opportunity Statement
