Position Description
The Neutrino Group at UC Irvine invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. The successful candidate will contribute to hardware development, software development, and data analysis within the DUNE and NOvA experiments and will work primarily with Professor Jianming Bian.
Construction and assembly of DUNE’s liquid‑argon purity‑monitoring system
DUNE cold‑electronics testing and assembly
R&D for future neutrino detectors, with preferred experience in LArTPC technology and SiPM‑based detectors
Contribute to AI/ML efforts: transformer‑based reconstruction, large‑language‑model development, and HPC‑parallelized inference
Analysis of early DUNE data and full NOvA data‑set analysis
Travel to Fermilab, CERN, and SURF
Qualifications
Ph.D. in experimental particle physics (or a related field)
