The Frank G. Zarb School of Business is inviting applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems beginning in the fall of 2026. We are seeking a candidate whose primary area of teaching and research is Cybersecurity Management. An ideal candidate would also have the ability and desire to teach a variety of information systems courses beyond Cybersecurity Management.

The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business offers BBA/MBA/MS programs in Information Systems, Cybersecurity Management, Business Analytics, and Business Operations & Healthcare Analytics. The Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management program delivers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills necessary to address complex cybersecurity challenges in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. The program emphasizes strategic cybersecurity planning, governance, and policy development, ensuring alignment between cybersecurity practices and organizational objectives. Supporting this academic mission, the Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center is a collaborative initiative between the Frank G. Zarb School of Business and the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Center features a 1,000‑square‑foot facility outfitted with state‑of‑the‑art security technologies and tools. The individual in this position is expected to actively engage with the Center and contribute to its research and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

Primarily teach courses in cybersecurity management, including computer networks and security, cybersecurity technologies, IS auditing, cybersecurity laws and compliance, information privacy and regulation, and AI in cybersecurity. May teach courses in information systems such as business applications, e‑commerce, systems analysis and design, enterprise information systems (ERP/CRM), and IT project management.

Show evidence or potential of performing high‑impact scholarly activities in the aforementioned areas by publishing in peer‑reviewed journals and presenting at academic conferences.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the department and school, such as committee work and student orientation.

Qualifications

Earned doctorate in information systems, computer science, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB‑accredited or equivalently accredited institution. ABDs in advanced dissertation stages will be considered for a non‑tenure‑track appointment. Tenure‑track status requires a degree in‑hand by August 2026.

Demonstrated ability to publish in respected peer‑reviewed journals.

Demonstrated evidence or potential to teach both in‑person and online courses with excellent communication skills.

A strong desire to work in a collaborative environment, support students through mentorship, and serve the Hofstra community.
