Full‑time Cardiac Sonographer at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Now offering a $25,000 Sign‑On Bonus for a limited time! The position includes performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations (2D echo, Doppler, stress, dobutamine, TEE, and other echocardiographic tests), preparing preliminary measurements, and facilitating patient understanding of procedures. Salary ranges from USD $36.06 to $60.78 per hour. Primary Duties
Obtain clinical information from patients, charts, and physicians; communicate purpose, procedures, and provide reassurance. Perform 2D echo, Doppler, stress, and other echocardiographic examinations to provide anatomic and physiologic data for physician review. Notify physician immediately of patient distress or abnormal findings; review studies with interpreting physicians; assist in training of cardiology fellows as needed. Inspect and maintain equipment and supplies; manage scheduling of examinations and special procedure rooms. Log and file echo studies, tabulate statistics, page staff, and assist physicians with patient reports. Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement activities, attend echo conferences, continuing education courses, and in‑services. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Registered Echocardiography program preferred. Successful completion of an ultrasound program may be accepted in some cases. Associate’s degree preferred. Prior clinical experience with at least 100 echocardiogram/doppler examinations and arrhythmia analysis required. Two years of post‑graduation echo cardiology experience preferred. Employment Type
