Senior Safety Manager - Tysons, VA with Security Clearance M.C. Dean is a global provider of cyber‑physical solutions for mission‑critical facilities and infrastructure. We’re looking for a Senior Safety Manager to oversee Project Safety and Health, Risk Management and operational safety programs for our projects in the Tysons, VA area.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage site‑specific project safety plans and the Safety Management System.

Lead the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process, advising project teams on risk and hazard mitigation.

Create and maintain safety training plans, curricula and an employee training experience.

Conduct new‑hire orientation (OSHA 10/30, CPR/FA) and redesign training materials and programs.

Interpret electrical safety standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, NESC) and oversee the NFPA 70E training program.

Measure training program effectiveness and update training content as needed.

Mentor safety professionals, cross‑train with other safety staff and circulate updates across the organization.

Stay current with regulatory, operational and technical matters related to safety management.

Participate in meetings with customers, project teams and contractors to advise on project‑specific Safety and Hazard mitigation plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field (electrical experience preferred) with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience focused on training program development and implementation.

ABET‑accredited safety or health degree.

Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP).

OSHA 500/502 certification.

ANSI‑Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000 knowledge.

Experience conducting S&H training, regulatory compliance (1910, 1926, EM‑385).

Safety Management Systems expertise.

Strong understanding of culture building.

Willingness to pursue ASP, CSP, CHST certifications.

Previous electrical, construction, industrial or federal S&H experience; Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) is a plus.

Work Conditions

Split between M.C. Dean offices and project locations.

Exposure to outdoor construction environments: uneven terrain, varied weather, potential hazards.

Up to 50% travel depending on project location.
